Now that the Black Friday madness has finally ended, we can start counting down the days until Christmas!

Since we were two little kids, we remember the chocolate advent calendar, when you get to eat a chocolate a day (or all at once, like us…). But, there is a lot to choose from when picking your advent calendar. Some are beauty and makeup and others are chocolate, some are cheap and some not so cheap; some you can buy and some you can make yourself!

Here are our suggestions for the best Advent Calendars for this year (in Portugal).

Personalized Advent Calendar

If you want to offer someone the most special advent calendar there is, then this is the option for you. You just have to buy a big box, which you can decorate as you like, and buy (or make) 24 small gifts to put inside.

In our box, we decided that each day would have a bag with a special message and an original gift. The bags were made of paper, and decorated with material purchased on Flying Tiger.

The idea is to decorate the bags with Christmas themes and then put small presents inside. You can also write a short message in each one of them and put a spring for that perfect final touch.

Some gifts were bought (but never more than 2/3euros) and others were made by us (chocolates, cookies, Christmas letter/postcard…). Some of the gifts are funny, some are useful, you get to choose! It’s always funny giving gifts as a way to drop some hints (reference to VIPoo in our example ahah!). Don’t forget that the present on the 24th of December has to be the most “special”! In total the price of this customized advent calendar was around €50, including all the decorations!

This is a gift that takes some time and requires effort, but we can guarantee you that the person who gets it will know how special he or she is for you!
