Harry Potter: We visited the Studios and watched the play “The Cursed Child”

Being Potterheads, we decided to go to London and visit the Harry Potter WarnerBros Studios, and see the play “Harry Potter and the cursed child”!

If you have been following the blog and our Youtube videos, then by now you know how big Harry Potter fans we are. So, we had to do a post dedicated entirely to our trip to the wonderful and magical world of Harry Potter!

We’ve been to many Harry Potter themed places, but in this post we want to share with you the two most memorable: the studios where they filmed the whole saga, and the first official play: Harry Potter and the cursed child.

The Making of Harry Potter

If you’re a fan of the movies, you have to go visit the studios where they were filmed. Here you’ll have access to sets, props, costumes, green screens, everything! You’ll be able to see with your own eyes how all that magical world was created and feel like you’re literally at Hogwarts.

If you’re considering visiting the studios, you can buy your tickets here. The price is €50 but you can be there for as long as you want. We got in at 2:00 pm and stayed there till 6:00 pm.

Once the studios are in Leavesden, you can choose to buy the ticket with shuttle included (€90) that leaves from Central London (Baker Street) straight to the studios (the return is included too). The trip lasts about 50/60 minutes (each way) and during the trip one of the Harry Potter films is screened on the plasmas in the bus.

We took more than 500 pictures, so it was hard to choose which ones to show you … But here are the ones we liked the most!

This Hogwarts castle model is at the end of the visit and it’s jaw dropping. It’s ridiculously huge and this is the actual model that they used to film all the images outside of the Castle. It was our favorite part!

Play – Harry Potter and the cursed child

The tickets for this play are much more expensive and difficult to get, in comparison to the studios. We went to London in March 2017, and when searching for tickets, all the year 2017 and 2018 was sold out. But, every Friday 40 tickets are sold online (the so-called lucky forty), and that was our only hope. In case you don’t know, the play is also divided in to two parts, just like the book. So if you want to see both parts you need to get the tickets separately.

When trying our luck in the lucky forty, we decided to go for the part II tickets (which is the part with more action). We didn’t get it. Neither for part I or II. But luck was with us, because whilst looking in their website for dates for 2019, two tickets became available. And get this: they were for our dates in London, great seats and for part II! We couldn’t believe it and took less than 10 seconds to buy them! eheh

This was the best show we’ve ever seen, totally worth the money, and you can really feel like you’re inside the magical world! We won’t be spoilers because we want you to have a surprise like we did. The only thing we can say is that we HIGHLY recommend it! You can try to get your tickets here!

PS. Any kind of camera is forbidden inside, so every picture we took was with our phone, minutes before the show started.

And you?

Are you a Potterhead too?  Which one of these two experiences would you like to do the most? (both, right? eheh)

Life is full of choices,

When in doubt, flip a coin.
